Enlightenment and Evidence
I just installed Evidence for Enlightenment (The file manager for Enlightenment) and when I run it I get these errors. Can anyone help me figure out what I need to do to get rid of them.
Here is the errors I get.
Code:
evidence: backend "lib/evidence/backend/fsxs" not found!
maybe we weren't made installed yet, assuming top build-dir...
evidence: found backend "lib/evidence/backend/posix.so".
Please symlink one of the backends in that directory to "fsxs.so" at some point.configuration for theme not found...
could not load theme "default" (/usr/local/share/evidence/themes) {/root}, disabling canvas...
Xlib: extension "RENDER" missing on display ":1.0".
evidence: no icon-view!?
evidence: no icon-view!?

Thanks for the urpmi and RPM links, fancypiper! I now have an Internet source set up for urpmi, and maybe I will be able to install some things I couldn't get to work (because of failed dependencies, naturally!) previously.
Also the links provided me with plenty of reading material. (As if I didn't have too much already.)

i had a similar problem with a slack package, because they hadn't included a default theme. If you symlink one of the other themes in /usr/local/share/evidence/themes to default/ then that should help, and you get some kind of canvas. I just linked the biggest directory (can't remember what it's called), because some are missing icon files in the smaller theme directories. The whole set up was dodgy anyway tho. I think the code's still pretty immature (evidence is intended for E17, which isn't gonna be released in the forseeable future..)
sorry i couoldn't be more help
