End of session box

When I log out of KDE3 I get either of two different "End of Session" boxes (random - I cannot predict which one will come up).

One has a green "animal" figure with options to "Login as different user", "Turn off computer", "Restart computer". This box functions correctly.

The other one is a small box with only "Save sesion for future logins", with "Logout" or "Cancel" options. When this box comes up, if I click "Logout", another box comes up with the option to change the user name and password, or to reboot/halt. This box often freezes my keyboard, and I have to use the auto login feature and restart KDE if I don't want to shutdown, and try again.

How do I get rid of this non functional logout box and only get the first one above?

did you upgrade kde or something and keep your old files around?

Maybe removing the files related to kde in your home folder will solve the problem

~/.kde

It was a fresh install of Mandrake 9
