enabling sata support for silicon image on kernel 2.6.2
Hi,
I'm in the process of configuring 2.6.2. I have a SATA hard disk I want to use and I have a Silicon Image chipset pci controller card. I can't seem to find the option to enable SATA support for Silicon Image. I find siimage.c in another category but I would like to use libata. I've looked /drivers/scsi in the kernel sources and the driver for SATA using Silicon Image is there but I can't find it in make menuconfig. while i'm at it, I also made a mistake of deleting my 2.6.0 kernel sources. How do I uninstall my 2.6.0 kernel? thanks |

you need to disable CLEAN_COMPILE in code maturity level options, as the silicon sata driver is marked "broken"... but it might work anyway. I just tried the same, but I have a Silicon on-board SATA thing, which doesn't seem to be supported :( (?) |
did you try this with 2.6.2? I believe they updated the silicon image driver.

I tried with 2.6.2-rc3.. and yes, they did update it.
