Enabling 3D Effects In Fedora Core 6 ????

Hi Chicks and Lads.I am using FEDORA CORE 6. It rocsks. No doubt. FEDORA have provided an option for enabling 3D effects. I have tried but it has failed. Has any one tried it or do u have any online link for the documentation.I am using NVIDIA 6200 TURBOCACHE graphics card. I have enabled XGL effects in SUSE LINUX 10.1 successfully.....Waiting for ur reply

Which graphics driver are you using in Fedora?

If it's the kernel module nv, then you do not have 3d capability. You need to install the nvidia driver from the nvidia website.

First and foremost I am using Fedora Core 6 64 Bit Version. When I enabled 3D effects (xgl) in Suse 10.1 Linux. I do installed Nvidia drivers. It was a *.run file. I used:
#sh *.run
It was a great script and drivers were successfully installed. However I have tried to install the same driver for Fc6. Even I downloaded the latest driver from Nvidia.com. But all my efforts ended in vain. I downloaded 64 bit drivers for AMD provided by Nvidia. As I am having AMD 64 Athlon.

This was the log generated by NVIDIA INSTALLER SCRIPT IN FC6:

Is there a Kernel Mismatch or Nvidia don't support FEDORA?

It's amazing that something so similar could be posted. I'm at a point where the NVidia .run is asking for GCC and libc to be installed. I dont have the slightest on how to do that but this is all in an effort to get the special effects running.

Just download and install the latest kmod-nvia and xorg-x11-drv-nvidia files.

If it were only that easy to "just" do something. A number of things fail when the dependencies are polled.

The following is the error received after attempting to install kmod-nvidia and xorg-x11-drv packages as instructed here http://scribez.wordpress.com/2006/10...n-nvidia-card/

This is a very simple evolution. You can install the livna beta builds or you can build them yourself. Read this

I didn't post the error received when trying to install kmod-nvidia.
