Enable TELNET "server"

I forgot how to do it. I need to enable my TELNET for Linux Redhat 9. I need to access the command line through my windows box.

Please do me a favor and use ssh rather then telnet as stated in the link given by acid_kewpie. It just makes so much more sense.

dolvmin 09-13-2003 05:29 AM

Duh, that was simple. I knew it was something easy but I forgot lol. Guess I got to lazy there, not searching and all.

acid_kewpie 09-13-2003 05:35 AM

dolvmin 09-13-2003 05:54 AM

I did not find any searches on the topic. Could you be more specific? Let's say I was interested, how do I get Windows XP Profesional (IP=192.168.1.100) to "ssh?" into Linux Redhat (IP=192.168.1.105)

I did try typing shh on "run" and windows did not take it as a valid command.

dolvmin 09-13-2003 06:16 AM

Well g man, I thought it was an intergrated program in Windows. I ain't doing active directory yet. lol

dolvmin 09-13-2003 06:16 AM

I got it working, thanks for the info... Trying to see if I can get lucky enough to get a GUI interface. Wish me luck lol.

acid_kewpie 09-13-2003 06:31 AM

a gui interface? ssh is a console access protocol what do you expect to achieve with a gui?

dolvmin 09-13-2003 06:43 AM
