How can I enable "libnullplugin.so" in Firefox .1?

Are you quite sure it's not already enabled ? AFAIK it's just an anchor plugin that has the additional role of setting the prompt for downloading new plugins. If you want to use a non-standard plugin directory, you'll probably have to simlink to it.

Thanks for the reply. I says it's not enabled. I thought it had something to do with "mime" files as that's anouther problem I'm having with firefox .1, adding audio files.

Are the audio file extensions registered generally for your system ? I.e., if you go to the KDE Control Centre -> KDE Componants -> File Associations, do .mp3 etc. all turn up ? (Or the equivalent under Nautilus, for a run through see http://www.extremetech.com/article2/...1151468,00.asp ).
I have mine set to run straight through xmms, which works perfectly from Firefox.

Xmms skips real bad for me, on 2 different boxes. I'll check KDE. I looked in windows firefox files and it had every one there is in there. With Linux only Real and mpegurl.

Could be worth getting the latest version from http://www.xmms.org/download.php - some of the earlier versions were a bit buggy, from memory. Do you have any probs with other players, or is it just xmms ?

I usually delete that plugin as it provides nothing but an annoying popup diaglog informing you that the plugin is not on your syetem to view the specified content.

Xmms the only one that skips. After it plays for about a minute it starts skipping. On streaming.

That's more than likely a connection issue if your listening to streaming content like shoutcast or some other streaming tunes. On the other hand depending on the audio plugin your using it will help to go to the config option of the Audio I/O plugin and adjust the buffer, increasing it should solve your problem with skipping or what not.
And last but not least if your using the "arts" plugin in kde for xmms you will most certainly have to adjust the buffer or configure arts to run with real time priority as that plugin sucks real bad.

Thanks for the reply. In my old "test" box I have "Damnsmall" installed and had to move the speaker plug to a different hole to get any audio out of it. I never did understand that. I'll try the buffering. As it does the same thing with both boxes it might be the connection.
