Empathy IRC character encoding. Howto change it?
 

So everything works fine with empathy in msn, gtalk, facebook chat, skype plugins.

But not in the IRC connection, the encoding is wrong. When I print åäö myself I can see the characters, but when someone else prints åäö I only get "???". I can't find where to change the character encoding.

Don't know if it matters, but I'm on debian wheezy with gnome-shell 3.4.2.
