i have an Intel 82830 Graphics Chip in a Toshiba laptop running Gentoo linux. with everything configured using the kernel i810 drivers i get about 300-500 fps. not much but it is an old laptop and this is plenty for a little Tuxracer in airports, etc
.
every time i power on i have crunchy, terrible performance from this card until i re-emerge x11-drm, which fixes the system. everything will then remain fluid until i power cycle, in which i have to re-emerge x11-drm again!
any ideas?
