Embedded/EDA tools: what's available?

Hi

I'm stuck. 85% of my time in front of a computer consists of the following:

FPGA design using VHDL/Verilog

Embedded system design/simulation/debugging (8051, Z80, etc)

Schematic and PCB layout

I have linux on 2 computers and am dying to use them for my development work, but am too tied to Windows-based software. I have searched the net but besides SDCC, haven't found a lot to cover the bases I need to implement complete toolchains.

Any suggestions???

thanks

Peff

Hi,
Maybe this one can help you to solve problem - http://www.geda.seul.org/
It can do many things and simulate VHDL too.

For the FPGA development part I suggest you buy from Xilinx or Altera. Their SW, Quartus and ISE, provide the entire FPGA design flow and runs on Linux.

I've also tried Synplify and ModelSim on RH and FC2 and it works great.
