Email Service on Linux/iSeries

A friend of mine working in a university, is looking for an email server software for his IBM iSeries system running Linux (Red Hat or SUSe).

Does anyone knows of any universities that is running a similar setup? If yes, pls let us know which email server software are they using?

Thanks

any of the well established MTA's will suit him i'm sure, most were written by universities in the first place... check postfix, exim, qmail or sendmail.

Thanks for the advice. However in his case, he needs to cite some references to his management.

well, sendmail is (afaik) THE most popular SMTP server in the history of anything ever...
