Can someone tell me how to set up my system to run Mail?
I kind of get it to send on the machine from one user to another but when logging into a recipient there is a no mail message but the mail is in the Mail directory.
My main concern is getting the email to send to other people.
Any help would be appreciated.

Bob

What email client have you installed? You could go with sendmail or any other, then go from there. I am not sure what usually comes with Peanut, since its not very big to begin with I don't know, but hope to in the future to install.

I have tried sendmail that's how I can send mail from root to another user on the same machine but I can't figure out how to send email to another address other than on the same machine. I tried using the mail command but get the error message: " Another mutt is running you can delete /root/.muttlock file, if you're sure no other mutt is running. Press enter to continue or x to exit". I press enter and after a minute or so I go to quit w/ save and I get a "send" screen where I type "y" to send.
(which takes about 2 minutes to do). After the screen clears I get the messages screen which shows all the returned messages. All the messages have the following errors listed.
For the from address: sender domain must exist and host unknown.
For the to address: Data format error
Don't know if this helps but the user agent is Mutt/1.2.5i and the diagnostic code is STMP;501.
I should let you know that I haven't done anything as far as setting any parameters or anything as far as the mail program goes. Rookie.
One more thing I said I could send mail from one user to another on the same machine but that doesn't seem to work anymore either. I better quit messin with this thing until I get some advice.
Hope this helps.
Thanks
Bob
