Exclamation Email help needed please!!!

ok guys i've been working on this for some time now.. and still have not got it to work..

ok here is what i'm trying to get done.

microsoft workstations.. using outlook express
check ISP email servers ( external to our network )

run threw a linux proxy running squid.

threw a router

into ISP network.

(note I do not want the email to stop at the linux box. i want it to go straight to the workstations)

now i have tryed fetchmail. and other MTA but they all seem to want to store the email on the linux box .. I do not want this to happen.

IS this a routing issue or is there just nothing out there that will accomplish my objectives?

Many thanks for any help

You shouldn't need to use fetchmail or anything if you are connecting direct to your ISPs mail server. Just specify their address in the outlook config.

What kind of proxy have you got configured? Are you only proxying port 80 traffic and not routing anything else?

I'm using squid to do the proxy on port 80 and i have both email ports called safe in the squid config file.
