emacs themes

hello ,
i just downloaded mandriva 2007 , the free edition , and for some reason the emacs is white -uncolored- , in the former edition i used mandriva 2006 it was green and with text being colored ... the question is how can i turn it back to be colored ..??
i use emacs 21.4.2 version ..!

thanks ,

emacs can be changed by settings in a X11 Xresources file or your home ~/.Xresources file
best to just make a file in you home dir and name it .Xresources and then set it how you like.
here is mine as an example
Code:
emacs.background: black
emacs.foreground: wheat
emacs.pointerColor: Orchid
emacs.cursorColor: Orchid
emacs.bitmapIcon: on
;;emacs.font: *fixed-bold-r-*-15-*-*
emacs.geometry: 107x40
edit: for testing use the command
xrdb ~/.Xresources
otherwise you would have to log out and back in again for the file to get read.

you have a utility that comes with x called
xfontsel
with it you can look at the various long names of fonts
use a * as a wildcard for any unspecified feilds
