Emacs search and replace

I am trying to do a search and replace in emacs.
usually this works no probs.

However I want to remove a ^M at the end of lines. I also wanted to replace the text --More-- with a blank space or delete them. Does anyone know how to do this? emacs doesnt let me.

I tried putting a space inbetween two quotes but got this instead " ". Which is a pain because now I cant search and replace those either.

I suppose sed will do this but I couldnt do it in emacs and need to know.

Please help.

Cheers,
Neil.

sed

You are correct, sed would probably be better suited for this.

info sed (go to menu option entitled "the 's' command")

happy hunting,
