Question emacs::PDE .emacs file question


I try to make my .emacs file look like this web site but i can't find away i can use all of this in my .emacs file without get a error.I not sure what i doing wroung.Here the link.

What i saying i want all the same command for my .emacs file on this web site but i abit lost.I hope someone can help me
