emacs mail configuration

hi there,

i am starting to use emacs but i am a little confuse.

how do you set up the mail configuration? (i've been using mozilla)
i found how to put my email address in

options->
customize emacs->top level ....

i send email tests but it doesn't work

where do you put the mail server info, the password, etc ?
