Unhappy ejabberd authentication

Hello,

Did anyone set up ejabberd from source? I've done all strictly following doc/guide.html. After it there was this problem. I registrate myself on the server with 'mynick' and 'mypassword'. Gajim creates account and tries to login. Authentication fails. I type 'mynick' and empty password and login. Then I can change my password as I wish and login with it.

PS
Then I patched ejabberd in order to get ejabberdctl (or something like). It simplifies administration just good and I can register anyone using this tool, pointing any password without any trubles. But I cannot do it from my jabber client.

Thanx in advance,

Igor
