Editor Tikz (alternative to TikzEdt) for vector graphics

Hello,

I would like a viewing editor for tikz.

qtikz does not allow you to plot like with gimp from tool bar.

Tikzedt does ! Which alternative does it too exist?
I could find that it is the only one for linux. :(

thank you

I don't want to be rude, but until now you have found (or have been pointed to) two alternatives. None of it is according to your likings. There was also inkscape2tikz mentioned. So you have a full developed drawing program, which exports SVG which can be converted to TikZ.

What else do you want?

I may hope you have googled yourself as well, and found nothing, because there might not be another program in production what does what you want.

I think you are missing the point anyway. TikZ is an abbreviation for TikZ ist kein Zeichenprogram. That is German for TikZ is not a drawing program.

What you are asking for is comparable to writing WYSIWYG in LibreOffice and save it in Latex. The whole point of Latex is that you do not use WYSIWYG to create your documents. Lyx is a sort of transition between the two showing in real-time what your Latex code will produce.

The TikZ editors/viewers don't do (shouldn't do...) anything else: show what your TikZ code produces. If you want a drawing program, by all means, use one. But don't expect it to save in TikZ.

If you want to use the advantages of TikZ, learn it.
