Question editing list


hiii...
i have a question..
how to edit list of software and module that loaded in startup.
and is there anyway to disable automatic login with editing something like editing key in registry editor in windows.
im using kubuntu intrepid live usb..
thanks...

update-rc.d is what is generally used on Debian/Ubuntu systems to manage services. You may want to look up information on Linux run levels, and also read the man page for that command.

To disable autologin:
In /etc/gdm/gdm.conf, make sure you have these lines:

AutomaticLoginEnable=false
AutomaticLogin=
Linux/UNIX family systems do not have "registries," so to speak. The equivalent would be the conf files in /etc and ~/.

one question...
i have explore /etc/gdm/ but i couldnt find gdm.conf....
then if it present,, how to edit the value... what program should i use
