editing files on RH9


i installed wine on RH9 and i need to edit one of the files. but when i open it and try to type in something it doesnt do anything. what do i have to do?

How do you open it in the first place?

maybe a permission problem. If it's a system file you need to be root to edit it.

If i remember correcly, the default program RH9 uses to open text files is only a viewer. Try opening the file in something else, like kedit or gedit. Or you can do it the old fashion way in a terminal using vi or pico.
