Sorry if this is in the wrong place

Does anyone know how to edit the grub configration from the windows os?..

I've found a driver that can read the ext3 partition but can't write to it?

if u need to edit the grub.conf file, then
insert your rescue disk
chroot /mnt/sysimage
edit grub.conf with editor like vi
then grub-install /dev/hda

Here's a driver that can also write to ext2/3:
I've used it a couple of times and it seems to work fine.
