Eclipse on RH9

Hi, I wanna install Eclipse on RH9. It requires GTK 2.0 but I currently have GTK 1.2 on my Linux Install. I am afraid that if I switch to GTK 2.0 it will open a can of worms for me. Has anyone done this before, i.e. installed Eclipse on RH9.
Tx, Sid.

I've been using Eclipse on RH9 and I don't think I've upgraded GTK. The only thing I though Eclipse needed was Java.

gtk / eclipse / java

Personally I think eclipse is great.
Although I've never set it up on RH, I have on debian and gentoo.

There is a distinction between gtk-1.2 and gtk-2.0
For example:
/usr/include/gtk-1.2
/usr/include/gtk-2.0

So 1.2 is not going to be overwritten if that's what you're worried about.
Example from my system:
Gentoo file manager uses 1.2
gkrellm2 uses 2.0

Have you tried using eclipse yet?
You may have it as is.

and yeah, don't forget about java sdk
eclipse -vm /path/to/java/bin

Thanks, U both are right. I really don't need GTK 1.2. The names Motif and GTK1.2 on the builds confused me. So its up and running now and installation couldn't hv been easier.
Tx again, Sid.
