Has anybody else had a problem with easytag (
http://easytag.sourceforge.net/ ) mangling the id3 info in their mp3s?
I tried to use it to quickly sort out some inconsistent info in my music library, but soon discovered that it was butchering my info, by adding a long series of "ée" strings to the end of some track names... for example, I now have upwards of 800 tracks with names like:
"Treefingerséeéeéeéeéeéeéeéeéeéeéeéeéeéeéeéeéeéeéeéeéeéeéeéeéeéeéeéeéeéeéeéeée"
and
"Butterflyéeéeéeéeéeéeéeéeéeéeéeéeéeéeéeéeéeéeéeéeéeéeéeéeéeéeéeéeéeéeéeéeée"
in my library. The offending version was 1.99.3 (unstable - so I only have myself to blame!)
and used id3lib 3.8.3.
There seem to be different lengths of this sequence appended to the names, some only have one eg. "Whitetailée" while some have loads.
Just wondering if anybody else has had this kind of problem, and if so, how they automated the un-mangling of their music.
Any suggestions of a good command-line tag editor for my repair script?
