Easy string/text manipulation/indentation for restructured text

I write a lot in restructured text format (documentation/plone) and often I have to insert via copy&paste code/logs/command outputs.

Restructured text heavily uses indentation to format the output. And I seek a tool that lets me paste text in one window and gives me desired output in another like 2 spaces on each line or text is wordwrapped at fixed length of 50 characters and the like.

Does anyone know an application that can help with this or do I need to write a little tool for that?

I haven't used it and only stumbled across it in a google search ...
