Talking Easy Question - set hostname in RH 9


How do I set/change my hostname (i.e. Bigserver.bignetwork.com) in redhat 9 ?

If you have the desktop installed you can find that info in System Settings > Network

put this line in /etc/sysconfig/network

HOSTNAME=yourhostname

or you can put your hostname in /etc/hostname fiel. if there is no file with that name as root create that file
