Easy Linux Install question
I'm a complete and utter Linux N00b. I appreciate the help from folks like youse. Anywho, here it is:
I installed Red Hat Linux 8.0 on an older Compaq box (small HD, 700 mhz Celeron CPU) that was given to me. The problem is this: When I was doing the install, I believe it's section 3.25, Account Config, I DID set a root Password, I did NOT create a personal account. Now, when I run Linux, I get a screen looking for a username and Password. Since I did not set any up, there is nothing to put here. So, I basically cannot get past the login screen. How do I fix this? Can I create an account now? I read somewhere to go to the "User Manager" and type "redhat-config-users" Where the heck is that? How do I access it? Thanks |
haha, dood just log in as root with the password then do an adduser command and set up an account.
