EAK-macros doesn't work (LinEAK)

I can't get the macros for adjusting the volume to work. When I set volumeup = EAK_VOLUP in lineakd.conf, I get an error message when I push the apropiate button saying "sh: line 1: EAK_VOLUP: command not found". How can I fix this? Is there any way I can check if the macros are correctly installed?

I've installed LinEAK with apt-get, both the normal lineak-package and the lineak-defaultplugin. I'm running Debian 3.1 with self-compiled 2.6.8 kernel.
Thank you!

Looks like your mixer is pointing to the wrong place. Try setting it to /dev/mixer, failing that, check what the path to it is.

Good luck.
