e-mail clients just stopped working with yahoo

I've used Evolution for ages now with my Yahoo account and everything has been fine, now all of a sudden, it won't work, just errors with:-

Error sending password: -ERR invalid user/password

I've tried Thunderbird and Sylpheed-claws but same thing!

Any help would be appreciated.

P.S. If I go online I can login with no problem.

I'm having the same problem with SeaMonkey under Windows XP. Must be some server problem with Yahoo.

Since this is nothing to do with Linux, it should be under General.

This seems to have been sorted out now.

You might need to go to your mail options in the Yahoo web interface and turn POP access on again, then it should work.

I have seen many complaints in this genral regard, in particular with Yahoo mail. I can log in for chat using Pidgin, but not with Thunderbird.

Personally I think this smells! - of background greed and proprietarism in many places.

I will try and attach a sanitized .PNG of the login screen if I can here. This old thread needs to be revivied!
