dwg files


I am looking for an Open Source program that can read and write dwg files (AutoCAD)

Did you Google for it?

From most of what I've read, there are some commercial products for Linux, as well as some how-to's on how to get Autocad Windows running under Linux.

Qcad is probably in your Ubuntu repo, and has 'dxf' as native file.
'dwg2dxf' from
https://sourceforge.net/project/show...group_id=30996
will convert most 'dwg' to 'dxf'
