DvdRip not installing Right -No GUI !!!!!

:banghead:Hmmm been trying to install DVDrip -PERL onto my trusty Linux box --Redhat7.3 .

Iam using the RPM method to install allthese extra "binaries"

or what ever you call them.

Transcode DID install -so did Aviplay. In the documentation about DVDrip -perl -It mentions about the need for GDK PixBuf & GTK Perl needs to be installed .

Keep in mind this is Older Software --- downloaded it to a CD & flash drive from a Hi-speed Broadband Connection.

My Linux BOX is NOT connected -just to let you know.

When I type in a Shell Terminal -- with dvdrip as a command it is coming up with some Strange message about something not right --------I shall have to copy verbatim what it says .

there is not a current OS called "Redhat7.3 "
the current testing is RHEL 7.2

or
the very old and very ANTIQUE RH 7.3 from 2002
not even redhat supports that any longer and has not supported it in a long time

it is 13 years old
and redhat only supported it for SEVEN YEARS

redhat is really not free
you need to buy the REQUIRED support contract

and use a current and supported version
RHEL 7.1
RHEL 6.7
RHEL 5.11

-- unsupported
rhel4
rhel3
rhel2
rh9
rh8
rh7 ( including your rh7.3 )

HMMMM 7.3 no longer supported -that does not surprise me --- But I was able to get XINE &VLC media player working on it. By using RPM-s I acquirred from Various FTP sites!!!! Very Daunting TASK -putting ALL the right RPM-S together

So tell me - Someone MUST have got DVDrip installed into it(old Redhat 7 <7.3> correctly?????????? Too late to bail out NOW!!!!!!!!!! ---adios ,chili

your best bet is to use 10 to 15 year old software

rh7 used the 2.4 kernel
new software will not run on it
