DVDRIP does not find transcode and Imagemagick

After getting all the dependencies together I have 'succesfully' installed dvdrip. Also transcode and Imagemagick are installed on my system (AMD64, SUSE 9.3 64bit). Everything seems to work except that dvdrip claims that transcode and Imagemagick are not installed. Also at start-up it says

sh: error while loading shared libraries: libdl.so.2: cannot open shared object file

but it does seem to work. I have tried changing to an older version of transcode (the one recommended by dvdrip) but to no avail.

Does anybody know why dvdrip does not see my transcode and Imagemagick installation? How can I make it see it?

Thanks!

Question

Hi t2dreamer,
How were you able to install dvd:rip on x86 64 system?
I have an AMD64 like you and I can't install 64 bit version of dvd:rip from YaST. It has so many dependencies.
So I took care of dependencies one after another but I'm stuck at perl dependency error.
perl is installed but it's asking for older version which I couldn't find rpm package. it's obsolete.
Please help me with this. By the way I have SuSE 10.0 64 installed.
Thanks.

Hi,

It's been a while since I posted this but I think I got the software through

http://packman.links2linux.org/

This site makes very clear what the dependencies are and provides suitable packages where needed (for various architectures and mine was among them). I do recall that it did cost me a bit of time to get everything together but I don't think there were any fundamental difficulties (apart from my post).

Good luck!

Oh great!
I needed perl-gtk-perl and perl packages and i couldn't find those in packman site.
I've got them from mirrors.kernel.org site.
Thanks
