DVD ripping
can anyone suggest me a nice tool for ripping DVDs in Linux
|
No, but I can suggest the search feature. It cuts down on people redundantly asking questions like this every week or so.

I use mencoder which is part of mplayer. Its command line based but easy enough to use. There are plenty of gui front ends available for it like dvd:rip. Have a look at the "linux tutorials" from the main menu of this site there's a good tutorial in there

dvd::rip and DVD rip-o-matic are good ones. the first is good for pro's, the latter is good for noobs.

I've not used this feature, but k3b has DVD ripping functions, and I love it for it's copying and burning capabilities.

All you need is dvd::rip

I've tried using dvd::rip, with no luck. I'm pretty sure my device paths are correct, but every time i tell it to scan for the table of contents in a dvd, i get the following error:
Job 'Determine number of titles' failed. Executed command: dr_exec tcprobe -H 10 -i /dev/hdb && echo DVDRIP_SUCCESS Last output was: sh: dr_exec: command not found I've tried everything I can think of, but I just cant find any way to get the VOB's ripped off of the dvd I am working with, and that's what i'm trying to do. Am i doing somehting wrong? has anyone had a similar problem? Any help would be much appreciated, thanks. |
