dvd::rip & transcode........

Well,

i've tried installing dvd::rip & transcode a million times over the years........

On many various distributions.......

Always failed dependencies.......upon failed dependncies.......upon failed dependncies.......etc..

I'm wondering, any advice where I should download, or how to install. Is there a complete all in one package? My problems with this are so numerous, im gonna start from scratch. Rippin dvd's and coding to DivX is the only reason winXP is still on my box!!

I've also tried downloafding and compiling this beast from scratch, sometimes it partially works for me. Not to blame the program, im sure its me.

Any advce would be appreciated!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I run Mandrake 10.0 now.
P4 2.4 Ghz
1 Gig Ram
My Dvd works fine.
Xine works great
Totem too...

Thanks!

I just started installing it now. Using gentoos emerge program, it told me I have 19 packages to complete the build(which it does everything for me). I could not imagine having to do this by hand.

you can install portage and use the command emerg with mandrake, but I think it would be difficult. The easiest way to get portage is to install Gentoo, it is well worth the effort.
