Hi there!
You might wanna try to install (from your install CD's) a program called ogle. As root, in a terminal type:
urpmi ogle
And should take care of the dependencies for you and install the application. Then to run it, just type:
ogle
And then locate your DVD drive and play it.
HTH
Cool

Or MPLAYER! Really cool app that you should have installed, even if you don't use it! It is that good!
To play dvds with mplayer from the command line, you would type mplayer -dvd 1 to load the 1st 'track' (or whatever the dvdspeak is for that).

To play encrypted DVDs (all commercial ones), you need the "dvdcss" library and I think the "dvdnav" library. It may be illegal in the united states though.

Unless of course they take Thymox's suggestion and go with MPlayer, an all in one solution to global issues

Xine works quite well on the 'just click and it plays' front. You will have to run xine first, and then click on the 'dvd' button rather than clicking on a dvd icon in a filebrowser.
