DVD burning software

I am new to linux. One of my bigest conserns is if i am gonna be able to burn DVD and where i can find software for it. Is there any good free.?

Will k3b actually make a copy of a DVD. I'm looking for something like DVDShrink for windows.

K3b can copy a DVD, but not resize it. If you have double-layer discs, you can make a direct copy without resizing. If you want to resize a double layer disc to fir on a single layer DVD, try looking at k9copy, dvrequant, or lxdvdrip.

I burned a IMG file (mac version of an ISO) and it was a compressed disc, but when I put it in my DVD player at home, it has no vertical sync and the weird scramble just rolls across the screen.
