questions from the peanut gallery:
1. What program would I use to listen to DVD-audio (24bit/96kHz 5.1 channel)? If there is such a program and it is just an audio player, what would I do if I wanted to watch a movie that had DVD-audio? (Something similar to WinDVD for Windows, I guess)
2. Creative has this thing in Windows called CMSS and with it I can listen to stereo sound on my 5.1 speaker setup (who knows what comes out of the center speaker, but sound definitely comes out). Is there any way to do this in Linux?
3. Any support for mounting of mds/mdf files in linux? Also, can I mount DVD ISO files (and then watch them) the same way I would mount an ISO files? I'm guessing yes, since they both use the same filesystem (what I really want to know is, is there a DVD player for linux that supports playing of mounted DVD ISOs?)
4. Installing drivers for my Intellimouse Explorer 4.0 in Windows seemed to make the wheel more responsive. At the very least, it enabled me to select how many lines scrolled per scroll of the wheel. Is there any way to do either of these in Linux?
5. How do I stop the damn minimization animation in GNOME?
6. regarding the ripping of DVDs: for Windows, there is a program called DVD Decrypter. Makes ripping ISOs from DVDs a breeze. Anything similar for Linux?
Any help would be appreciated!!!!!!!!
