DVD's?

I have purchased a movie in DVD. The problem is that the DVD is locked so as it to be viewable only in TV DVD's.

Is there a way to watch this movie in Linux?

do you have libdvdcss installed?

LinuxSeeker 03-21-2004 01:54 PM

No I am using Xine to watch DVD's, could you give me some more details?

you need libdvdcss to access the encrypted bits (i don't really understand this but it works)

go to http://rpm.pbone.net

type in libdvdcss and hit search
find the mandrake 9.2 version, download and install

then go back and have a go with xine

OK, will I need to have 3GB free space in my PC or will it just access the encrupted bits?

it decrypts on the fly
no decoding to hard disk required
