Duplicity problem

Hi, I have a problem with duplicity. Basically, I've got one of these remote backup accounts with a third party, and want to run duplicity backups to the remote host.

I've checked that I can ssh, rsync, scp, sftp to my new account, all of which work with no problems. However, when I run duplicity, i get the following (I've replaced the user and host names for obvious reasons...):

Code:
# duplicity -v9 /home/test scp://user@host.com/backup

Main action: inc
Reading results of 'echo -e 'cd backup
ls -1' | sftp -b - user@host.com'
Permission denied (publickey,keyboard-interactive).
Couldn't read packet: Connection reset by peer
Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "/usr/bin/duplicity", line 373, in ?
    if __name__ == "__main__": main()
  File "/usr/bin/duplicity", line 349, in main
    globals.archive_dir).set_values()
  File "/usr/lib/python2.4/site-packages/duplicity/collections.py", line 406, in set_values
    backend_filename_list = self.backend.list()
  File "/usr/lib/python2.4/site-packages/duplicity/backends.py", line 299, in list
    l = self.popen(commandline).split('\n')[2:] # omit sftp prompts
  File "/usr/lib/python2.4/site-packages/duplicity/backends.py", line 150, in popen
    raise BackendException("Error running '%s'" % commandline)
duplicity.backends.BackendException: Error running 'echo -e 'cd backup
ls -1' | sftp -b - user@host.com'
For the avoidance of doubt, "backup" is a valid directory on the remote host. I can scp to it without error.

Many thanks in advace for any help!
