Dumb easy question

Ok, just installed an RPM (everybuddy), now in the windows world, the program would end up in the start-->programs -->everybuddy.. now installing rpm, it just does its thing and the installation box disappears, leaving me wondering.. "how do I start my program?"
I am using KDE3.1 on Mandrake 9.2..

Stupid question I know... but please help me out.

type everybuddy at the command line. You can use the KDE menu editor to add programs to the KDE menu as well.

Not sure about Mandrake and it might be the same as in Redhat but you might try and find the executable in the /usr/local directory and if you successfully find it then you can create a link to the application and put it on your desktop. Hope that helped in some way

If you don't want to leave a shell window open the whole time everybuddy is open, you can hit ALT+F2 and type everybuddy there.

hi there,

if you want to create a desktop icon for everybuddy or you just want to know where to find the binaries, type

whereis everybuddy

which should tell you where to find it.

best,

bavarian
