dualboot win10 + linux

Hello,

i know that installing win(10) first and linux second, the grub takes over (normally) and you can choose which to use, however after installing linux second, it immediatly starts windows even after installing easybcd i cant, because easybcd says something about the uefi, probally also the reason why grub is being ignored, for some reason i cant dualboot, after installing linux second
but anybody know a workaround or something, cuz i realy want to play gog games XD, or should i just downscale windows to 7 or something like that.

Greetings,
naijerana

you gave almost no information about what did you really try. And especially you gave no information at all about your problem.

easybcd : EasyBCD is a software utility for Windows that lets you control and configure the BCD/BOOTMGR bootloader for Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8, and ...

just put that away somewhere you cannot get a hold of it, and let grub do the controlling of boot, because Windows boot manager has been put to sleep ( is no longer being used ), and grub has taken over.

Unless you got some strange set up where you're having more than one Windows version installed and one of them is controlling the boot list for the other Windows OS'es, and grub controlling Linux and that one Windows OS that is controlling other windows OS'es.

if yes, then change your boot order, and let grub control all of it.

Is fastboot turned off in windows power settings? Try the esc/del/f2 when first hitting the power button to see if the bios will allow you to select Linux.

Hi naijerana,

This just sounds to me as if grub was incompletely or improperly installed to the ESP (EFI System Partition). When you installed linux (which distro, by the way), how did you install GRUB and did you make sure to use the UEFI install and procedure ?

As others have mentioned, we will need some more detailed information to go any further if the above suggestion doesn't mean anything to you.

Cheers.
