"Dual Head" with ATi Radeon 9700
 

I have ATi Radeon 9700, and I am wondering if anybody has successfully set up a system with two monitors connected to that card? I am using SuSE 9.1.

In that case, which driver did you use? (ATi's own, the "radeon" driver etc...)

I just love the way Windows handles two (or more) connected monitors.

yeah it's easy. i'm sure suse can do it all for you. google for Xinerama.

and for the record, windows manhandles dual monitor like a lump of dog poop. no really. it's attrocious once you see the freedom in X.

X now has built in support for not only multiple monitors, but virtual servers distributed over a network. your two monitors don't even need to be in the same country to be able to drag an app between screens... can windows do that on it's own???

SaX can not do it for me, but I can try to edit XF86Config myself.

Does xorg do it also?

it's the xdmx extension, included in xorg 6.8.0 and later. http://dmx.sf.net
