Dual boot Linux with Windows 2000

Dear All,

I have bought a copy of Fedora Core 4 and want to dual boot it with Windows 2000. I am already using Win2K and have an 80 gig hard drive partitioned into 3 drives (45 gig /20 gig /15 gig).

Is it possible to install Linux on the 3rd 15 gig partition and dual boot it with win2k? I don’t really want to do a new install of win2k.

Yeah, of course you can let Win2k to dual boot Fedora but it would be 10 times easier to multi boot with Linux, especially the standard boot loader supplied with Fedora is Grub.

In a normal installation you will find Fedora will detect Windows and lists it as a booting alternative but you have to let Grub take over the MBR.

Also for the first timer you need two partitions, one for a swap, anything between 0.5Gb or 1Gb will do. The other is for Fedora which will be quite comfortable in a 10Gb partition.
