Question Dual Boot Linux/Windows on Laptop

Hello all,
when i started using linux, i was told Grub had trouble Dual booting with windows on laptops and it would cause your hdd to format, or something like that, not to sure, well i never experienced this so I can't say if its true or not. I researched it and i dint found my answers so i'm turning to posting in my favorite forum (hehe). Is this true? and if yes, is there a work around, i still got 12 days left till TES IV: Oblivion comes out and i dont want to wait for cedega to release a patch for it...Anyway

Thanks

~Vezril

Rubbish. You can install GRUB to the MBR (Master Boot Record) on laptops just like any other PC, so this will not cause a problem at all. I'd be interested to know where you read that though

Depending on which distro you install, the entry for Windows will be added automatically (on installation) or not. Even if it doesn't, it isn't too hard to add a line to GRUB manually to put in an option for Windows - let us know if you need help when the time comes

Cheers,

-jk
