Dropping WiFi


Linux Mint keeps connecting then dropping wifi conection.

Open a terminal and type in

Code:
mintwifi
and post back what the terminal says after you hit enter. Use the code tags like I did.

also post

Code:
inxi -Fxx
also so members can see what you have and are running. All of course after reading the above post suggestion which I agree with 100 percent.

Hi,
There might be three possibilities -

1. You should use an anternative driver.
2. You have a power saver feature enabled.
3. There is a conflicting driver being loaded.

Ensure that the hardwired cable, if any, is disconnected and a fresh terminal is opened. You need to run
Quote:
lsusb
if your NIC is a USB dongle.

If it's integrated in the computer, run:
Quote:
lspci
Also run:
ip a
and:
ip l
and
lshw -C network
and:
lsmod
