This is wierd behavior.

I have recently moved back home with cable internet with a linux firewall. A few sites that I've tried to visit give me "document contains no data" via mozilla. When I try to access the same site with lynx, I don't get the whole page. (I'm trying to access amazon.com.) I've successfully accessed the page before coming back home and have done so at least once last week-ish.

I've also successfully accessed the page on a windows machine that's on the same network.

I've checked /etc/hosts.deny and amazon.com isn't in there. I'm currently downloading a 1.3.1 mozilla to see if that solves problems but I doubt it since I'm having trouble in lynx as well.

Suggestions?

are you dropping packets in a simple ping test to amazon?

well, yes and no. I can ping amazon.com fine. But every time I try to access the page via web browser (mozilla and lynx), it says "Document contains no data" and then fails to load the entire page. I'm not sure if this is router-related or my computer.
