Dropline gnome has screwed my sound

Hey,

I don't even like dropline, but as it's still on my system I thought I'd fire it up.

Well what it's done is:

1. it altered the permissions on /dev/dsp (no problem, I changed them back)
2. volume on xmms no longer has any effect. I move the slider and the volume remains unchanged.
3. aumix will not start as me, only as root. Same with alsamixer

This to me looks like a permissions thing, but I don't know of what!!

Any suggestions?

Forget it...I figured it out.

For some reason (and completely uninvited) it removed read and write permissions from dsp, audio and mixer for everyone but root.

This concerns me because I've run absolutely nothing as root today, apart from updatedb which should not change anything like that. Ahh, and dropline asked me for the root password to change theme....
