DRM DRI kernel options

Is there a way to disable DRM when booting the kernel. like a kernel option in a grub menu.lst file?

i know of others like noapic and noapm but searching online i find nothing about disableing drm or dri from the kernel other then in the xorg file witch i cannot do

i have fedora 4 and im tyring to get fglrx working on it. Only problem is the dri in the kernel is overrideing the one from ATI. Another issue is fedora 4 dev's decided that we dident need kernel source or .config files to make life eazier. So recompile is not an option.

if i disable drm or dri in xorg file then all drm moduels get skipped.

I'm sure a kernel source is available. If not then get a nice clean generic from kernel.org...
