Sorry, but no idea what you're asking about/for here.

You say your 'team' has Ubuntu totally updated...what 'team' is that?? You also post your laptop specs, and say that it ALREADY has Ubuntu loaded. Is your system working or not? What actual PROBLEMS are you having?? What doesn't work/won't load?? And since you are a 'systems technician', you should know that posting something like "Ethernet 10/100" or "Webcam", tells us nothing; it is the chipsets those devices have and use that will determine if it's supported or not.

Post actual problems/errors, and we can try to help.

The OP says "I am looking for the drivers for ubuntu 18.04.1".

Perhaps here: https://certification.ubuntu.com/certification/make/HP/

Or at www.hp.com. I found a promising page https://www8.hp.com/us/en/campaigns/ubuntu/index but all it contains is broken links.

If you have support for the laptop(s), why not call HP? Or raise the problem in an HP forum?

Quite true; they also say "My team has ubuntu totally updated", but they don't elaborate on what 'team' they're talking about, what they updated, or how it fits in, and they also say the operating system on their laptop is ALREADY Ubuntu. (???)

And the OP also doesn't post any actual problems/questions related to their system, nor do they say what drivers they are missing for what devices that don't work (whichever devices they are...OP doesn't say). And their webcam/wifi/ethernet/audio chipsets aren't defined, so there's no way of knowing which driver (Broadcom? Intel? Realtek? Other?) they actually will need.

To me, this reads as, "I want to install Ubuntu 18.04.1 on my laptop".

Linux has a few ways like other OS's to find some information about the hardware. PCI chips, hard drive chips and usb query are a few examples.

If linux correctly matches a hardware to a driver (and a few ways exist to install a driver) it will at least have and ability to use the hardware. It may not configure the hardware for use and that is a slightly different thing.

Generally speaking lsmod command will show a lot but not all in all cases. See this for an example. https://www.computerhope.com/unix/lsmod.htm
