where can i get a graphics driver for my geforce 6600gt pci express 128mb for suse linux 9.1?

also, where can i get drivers for onboard sound cards for linux? i have a 7.1 channel onboard audio device which hasnt been installed.

lastly, which program is it (i heard of it, dont know if its true) that enables u to play windows games in linux? id like to play warcraft and unreal in linux over the network...which reminds me, i dont think my onboard LAN device was installed.

In the same place than your windows drivers: www.nvidia.com
But I do not know why the hell they do not include them on the cd!!!

No idea. Try giving more information about the soundcard.

one more thing, whats the difference between IA64 and IA32? there are too many different downloads i dont know which one to pick.

IA64 is for 64-bit processors - these just came out, so unless you specifically purchased a 64-bit proc, this isn't you.

IA32 is for 32-bit processors - these are what standard processors are and most likely what you have.

linuxamd64/emt64 - these are probably drivers compiled specifically for AMD or EMT 64-bit processors; again, probably not you.

FreeBSD - this is another Open Source OS, similar to Linux, but not linux (generally speaking, I really don't know a whole lot about BSD).

You'll most likely need the Linux IA32 drivers

The nforce drivers are if you have a motherboard with an Nvidia nforce chipset.

actually, i recently got myself a brand new pentium4 3ghz hyperthreading rig, so i suppose i shud get the ia64 drivers.

i just thought that the ia64 and ia32 referred to different versions of linux, i didn't realize that it referred to the hardware.

I doubt it's 64-bit architecture, but if it is it should say so on the box (retail) or you might have to do a little more digging if you bought it OEM.

<-------note my post count, I'm still learning linux myself, but have a good general knowledge of all-things-computing. The 64-bit probably refers to the OS, too, but 64-bit OS's are only used on 64-bit hardware, so the least common denominator is hardware.

I'd would confirm whether you have a 64-bit proc before installing 64-bit drivers for your card - i don't know what problem/damage, if any, could occur.
