dreamweaver
is there anything even remotely as good for web pages as this in linux......
|
I've never thought dreamweaver was very good. vi is much better.
If you are looking for something that is similar to the style of dreamweaver then try nvu or bluefish or you could just use dreamweaver. |
Quanta and Bluefish are very good. As David said, you can just use Dreamweaver on Linux if you wish.

Yes, they are all opensource. I'd guess that at least one of them is already available with fedora but the official sites if you want to see the features of each are:
http://www.nvu.com http://quanta.kdewebdev.org http://bluefish.openoffice.nl I just tend to prefer WYSIWYG coding tools where I can actually see the code. To be honest I've only ever used demo versions of dreamweaver and that was a while ago now but it seemed to want to control everything for you. |

I do like Quanta. I haven't tried Nvu or Bluefish but have heard good things. They are all open source. |

and about the dreamweaver thing most people who i know that hate dreamweaver are usually really good at html or are accomplished web designers.. i am completely new to this so i guess it is best for me |
I would use dreamweaver but unfortunately my version of it (MX 2004) seems to execute but not actually run on WINE for some reason, I'll execute the file with WINE, then it'll just do nothing and drop to the terminal again without even trying to open a window...
